РЕШЕНИЕ НА ЖУРИТО


Международното жури, съставено от 7 души от различни сфери на дейност /дизайн, културен мениджмънт, журналистика, културни изследвания, градска политика/, трябваше да направи селекция измежду 76 проекта от 5 държави /България, Гърция, Германия, Финландия и Португалия/.

Журито търсеше не просто красиви проекти на лога, а визуален език и системи, които да могат да се развиват и да се прилагат комплексно, така че елементи на избраната логосистема да могат да се променят, варират и еволюират във времето заедно с града, да имат други функции в бъдеще, но също така и да носят идеята за кандидатурата на София за Европейска столица  на културата.

Журито анализира без разкриване на самоличността на авторите на проектите силата на всеки знак, способността му да бъде използван на кирилица и латиница, възможността да бъде отпечатван и възпроизвеждан в различни размери и техники, способността да еволюира през следващите 10 години, оригиналността, способността да представя различни културни събития, но също и да бъде част от културната концепция, отношението към контекста, способността да представя различни културни стилове и град София.

Журито взе своето решение по следния начин. Всеки проект беше индивидуално презентиран и внимателелно дискутуран на базата на посочените по-горе критерии и имаше възможност да достигне до втори кръг. 29 проекта бяха селектирани за втори кръг. Селекцията при втория кръг се основаваше на гласуване с мнозинство, в резултат на което 14 проекта бяха избрани за участие в изложба. Само тези 14 проекта спечелиха повече от половината гласове на журито, затова то реши да не избира повече проекти за изложбата. В следващия етап бяха обсъждани 14-те проекта. След гласуване 4 от тях получиха повече от половината от гласовете на журито и то единодушно реши да даде възможност на гражданите да изберат един от тези 4 много различни проекта. Тези проекти бяха селектирани, защото те повече или по-малко имат визуални качества, отговарящи на съвременни тенденции в дизайна, и отношение към конкретния софийския контекст. Всеки един от тях има високо графично качество.


ЖУРИ


Руди Бауер е създател на нови графични езици. Oсновател и на мрежа от девет независими студиа в Париж, Цюрих, Монреал и Берлин, наречена Integral, която работи по проекти в социалната сфера и включва графични, продуктови и експозиционни дизайнери, фотографи, типографи, артисти, архитекти и писатели.

Йорданка Фандъкова е кмет на София. Г-жа Фандъкова е министър на образованието от юни 2009 до ноември 2009, когато е избрана за кмет на София.

доц. д-р Александър Кьосев е директор на Културния център на СУ «Св. Климент Охридски», член е на Института за съвременно изкуство София, главен редактор на списание «Пирон».

Андреан Нешев е графичен дизайнер. Съкуратор на Sofia Design Week 2009 "Next Identity" и Sofia Design Week 2010 "More or Less", съкуратор на "Балкански панел" в рамките на Sofia Design Week 2010 и 2011.

Кристин Бретон е куратор на културно наследство и изследовател. Има докторска степен по история и управлява мисията, прилагаща принципите на Фаро конвенцията към Съвета на Европа в град Марсилия.

Кирил Вълчев е водещ на “Седмицата” – политическото обзорно предаване на Българското национално Дарик радио. Адвокат е в Софийската адвокатска колегия.

Лана Кавар е графичен дизайнер. Нейната работа е получила награди от AIGA, TDC Ню Йорк и Токио, Young Guns, ADC Ню Йорк, и Icograda.


  • decision of the jury


    The International Jury consisting of 7 persons with diverse spheres of expertise (design, cultural management, journalism, cultural research, urban policy) was assigned to select among 76 projects from 5 countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, Finland and Portugal).
     
    The Jury was not looking for merely beautiful logotype projects, but rather a visual language and systems which can develop and be applied in a complex way, so that the elements of the selected logosystem can change, vary and evolve with time together with the city, to take other functions in the future, but at the same time to bear the idea of Sofia’s candidature for European Capital of Culture.    

    The Jury analyzed without reveling the identity of the projects’ authors the power of the sign, the capacity to be used in Cyrillic and Latin, the capacity to be printed or produced in different sizes and techniques, the capacity of evolution in the next 10 years, the originality, the capacity to represent different cultural events but also to be part of the cultural concept, the relation to the context, the capacity of representing the different cultural styles and the city of Sofia.
        
    The Jury made its decision the following way. Each project was individually presented and carefully discussed based on the above mentioned criteria and had the possibility to go to the second round. At the end of this round 29 projects were selected. The second round was based on the system of majority voting and give as result 14 projects selected for public exhibition. Only 14 projects received the majority of the votes and the Jury decided not to select more projects for the exhibition. In the next round the 14 projects were discussed.  After a new vote 4 of them received the majority of the Jury vote. The Jury decided in unanimity to give the chance of the citizens to select one of these four very different projects. These projects were selected because they possess more or less visual qualities which correspond with the contemporary trends in design and have a relation to the specific Sofia context. Each of them has a very high graphic quality.

    Rudy Bauer is the creator of a new graphic language. Founder of a network of nine independent studios in Paris, Zurich, Montreal and Berlin, called Integral, working on projects in the social sphere and includes graphic, product and exhibition designers, photographers, typography, artists, architects and writers.


    Yordanka Fandakova is the mayor of Sofia. Ms. Fandakova was Education minister from June 2009 until November 2009 when she was elected for mayor of Sofia.


    Dr. Alexander Kiossev is director of the Cultural Center of the University of St. “Kliment Ohridski”, a member of the Institute of Contemporary Art Sofia, editor of the magazine "Piron”

    Andrean Neshev is a graphic designer. Co- kurator of Sofia Design Week 2009 "Next Identity" and Sofia Design Week 2010 "More or Less", co-kurator of the Balkan panel within Sofia Design Week 2010 and 2011. 



    Christine Breton is curator of cultural heritage and researcher. Holds a Ph.D. in history and manages the mission, applying the principles of the Faro Convention of the Council of Europe in Marseille. 



    Kiril Valtchev is leading “the Week "- Political Overview broadcast of the Bulgarian National Darik Radio. Lawyer in Sofia Bar Association. 
  


    Lana Cavar is a graphic designer. Her work has received awards from AIGA, TDC New York and Tokyo, Young Guns, ADC New York, and Icograda.
